Hi all,

I’m Lauren Berndt and I’m THRILLED to join Beber’s full-time team as the new Donor Officer.

My love for overnight camp began as a first time camper when I was 12 years old. And in my opinion, I could have started when I was 5!

Reflecting back on my camp experiences, I remember leaving camp each summer feeling empowered and more confident, but I had no idea the impact camp would have on my future.  Influenced by my camp experience, I studied Therapeutic Recreation at Ithaca College.  As a young professional, I had the opportunity to write curriculum and lead various programs and camps for individuals with developmental disabilities.

While working as a direct service professional, I appreciated the need for fundraising and had the opportunity to work on a development team.  This was when I discovered my love for fundraising for mission-driven organizations.  It is clear that Beber Camp is driven by its mission.

As I wrap up my first week as Beber’s Donor Officer, I am overwhelmed by the warm and welcoming culture.  I am in awe of the rich history and deep roots throughout the Beber family.  More than anything, I am honored to be part of the team raising funds to allow for Beber Camp’s continued growth and sustainability, honoring Beber’s heritage and heart, and addressing the needs of generations of current and future campers.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at any point with questions, thoughts, or ideas. I look forward to meeting all of you and hearing your Beber stories!

Lauren.
