Go Your Own Way

Loving you isn't the right thing to do
How can I ever change things that I feel?
If I could, maybe I'd give you my world
How can I when you won't take it from me?
You can go your own way, go your own way
You can call it another lonely day
You can go your own way, go your own way

From flagpole to evening program, it was such a fun day! The morning buzzed with regular cabin routines and the final sessions of our second round of hobbies. From completing arts and crafts projects to perfecting dances and conquering climbing challenges, there was no shortage of excitement. I particularly enjoyed playing games at the basketball hobby this morning. With warmer weather, many campers relished a refreshing dip in the pool or ventured onto the aquapark. Even a little rain did not deter our campers from reaching their goals.

Today’s Menu was one of my favorites!
Breakfast: Chocolate Chip Pancakes
Lunch: Pizza Bagels, Pizza Wheels and more pizza
Dinner: Chicken Fajitas

This afternoon, our Kesher and Ramot campers eagerly packed for their upcoming three-day trips, filled with anticipation for the adventures ahead. Tomorrow promises excitement as they embark on their chosen journeys, ready to create lasting memories. I plan to share more about our tripping program in tomorrow's post.

Behind the scenes, our leadership team meticulously prepared for the trips, ensuring every detail was covered. The kitchen stocked provisions, the program team readied supplies, and the tripping team organized gear. Trip leaders underwent thorough training with the health center to address any medical needs, all while managing the ongoing camp activities seamlessly.

Later in the day, campers and staff gathered for the All Camp Talent Show, featuring the top acts from each division. The Senior Ramot girls added their own touch with custom lyrics that reflected their experiences at Beber, showcasing the diverse talents within our community.

Talent shows at Beber are more than just entertaining evenings filled with singing, dancing, and laughter; they enrich our community in numerous ways.

For many campers, the talent show is their first opportunity to step into the spotlight and share their passions with an audience. Whether it's performing a favorite song, displaying a hidden talent, or participating in a skit with friends, getting up on stage fosters a sense of confidence and accomplishment. The supportive environment of camp encourages campers to take risks and celebrate their successes, no matter how big or small.

Talent shows are not just about the performers; they are a communal event where the entire camp comes together to support one another. The audience’s cheers, applause, and encouragement create a sense of unity and belonging. It's a night where we all come together to celebrate each other's strengths and cheer on our friends, reinforcing the strong bonds that make our camp community feel like a family.

Many acts in the talent show are group performances, requiring campers to work together, practice, and support each other. This collaborative effort teaches valuable lessons about teamwork, communication, and the joy of shared success. It's a fantastic opportunity for campers to learn how to collaborate creatively and build something amazing together.

Ask any camper about their favorite camp memories, and chances are, the talent show will be high on the list. The excitement, the nerves, the joy of performing, and the exhilaration of applause all contribute to unforgettable experiences that campers carry with them long after they leave camp. These moments become cherished memories that help define their camp experience.

At Beber Camp, talent shows are a tradition that embodies our core values of courage, community, and leadership. They provide a unique opportunity for campers to shine, support one another, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

As we look forward to Makor Mania tomorrow, where Makor campers will lead the camp, and the 3-day trips, the enthusiasm is palpable. Thanks to the dedication of our staff and the meticulous planning, we are poised for another incredible chapter at Beber. So let's “go our own way.”

P.S. Congratulations to the following who knew that American Authors sang "Best Day of My Life.”
