Reflections on an Unforgettable Summer

Reflections on an Unforgettable Summer 2024: Highlights from Beber Camp’s Program Areas

As we close the chapter on another incredible summer at Beber, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the energy, creativity, and fun that filled every corner of camp. From arts to athletics, our summer was packed with nonstop action, and I’m excited to share some of the highlights that your campers experienced.

Arts & Crafts:
The Arts & Crafts area was a creative space, providing a relaxed and cool environment where campers explored a wide range of activities. From painting murals and sewing projects to crafting friendship bracelets and candles, there was something for everyone. Our talented staff brought these activities to life, sharing their skills and helping campers discover their artistic side.

Challenge Course:
At the challenge courses, campers literally reached new heights and pushed beyond their comfort zones. With peers and staff cheering them on, many campers accomplished things they never thought possible. Hopefully, you’ve caught some of the exciting moments from our climbing courses in your camper’s photos!

Aquatics & Waterfront:
Our aquatics and waterfront programs were the perfect blend of skill-building and pure fun. Whether it was mastering the aqua park, advancing in waterskiing (including learning to slalom), paddleboard games, or Junior Lifesaving, campers had a blast while learning. This summer, we added sailing as a cabin activity, introducing teamwork and new skills to our Lake Beulah offerings. And don’t miss the video of one of our synchronized swim routines—it’s a must-see!

Slingshot Paintball Range:
A new addition this summer, our slingshot paintball range quickly became a favorite. If you haven’t seen it in action, be sure to ask your camper about this thrilling activity.

Athletics:
From beach volleyball to baseball, basketball, tennis, ultimate frisbee, soccer, archery, and even diablo tossing, sports were happening all around camp. Our staff did an amazing job keeping campers engaged and hydrated during the hottest days, and the healthy competition provided countless opportunities for skill-building and excitement.

Fine Arts:
The fine arts department was buzzing with activity. Campers worked on dance routines, created delicious treats in our indoor kitchen, made short films, and contributed to the Beber Buzz newspaper. You can check out the links to our first session musical, Matilda, and the second session production, Frozen, to see the incredible talent on display.

Farm:
The farm was a peaceful retreat where campers from all divisions enjoyed spending time with our sheep, goats, and chickens. Whether they were cooking a tasty snack over the fire or simply enjoying the animals’ company, the farm provided a special connection to nature.

Recording Studio:
Did you know that Beber Camp has a recording studio? Our talented campers recorded original songs and performed with their rock bands. You can listen to some of these amazing tracks at beberrocks.com!

All Camp Programs:
Be sure to ask your campers about their camping trip experiences and all camp programs, including Israel Day and Maccabiah. I’m always amazed by the spirit and sense of community that emerges when campers step out of their comfort zones and create lasting memories with their camp friends. Whether they were singing a closing team song on Maccabiah or sleeping in a tent for the first time, our campers were part of something truly special.

Thank You!
A heartfelt thank you to all our campers and families for making this summer unforgettable. We wish you a smooth start to the school year and look forward to seeing you next summer, if not sooner at one of our hometown visits.

Peace, Love, 3BC,
