Understanding What To Do With Your Camper's Medication This Summer - Health Center Update (January 2023)

As a reminder, for the safety of our campers, we will be using Pack My Rx again for ALL DAILY PILL MEDICATIONS AND SUPPLEMENTS (prescription and over-the-counter). WE DO NOT ACCEPT any gummies, dissolvable pills (like Claritin redi-tabs), or liquids. If a medication/supplement is not available in a chewable form, please contact Trudy for instructions). If your child takes a gummy, liquid, or dissolvable pill medication/supplement, please switch to chewables before camp starts so that your child will be used to taking chewables. Pack My Rx can pack out chewables, tablets, and capsules, but cannot pack out dissolvables (redi-tabs), liquids, and gummy medications, so please plan accordingly. Details on registering with Pack My Rx are now on our website. Registration for Pack My Rx begins on February 1.Please see our website for more details about medications at camp. Pack My Rx does NOT need doctor authorization for over-the-counter medications. Just list those medications when you register, and Pack My Rx will pack them out. A physician's prescription is required (which must be sent directly to Pack My Rx) for all prescription medications. You do not need to use Pack My Rx for injectables, oral contraceptive pills, Accutane, inhalers, nasal sprays, eye drops, creams, or powders (such as Miralax). If you are sending those medications with your child to camp, you will need to follow our website instructions for labeling and sending them to camp AND you will need to complete the Beber Camp Medication Authorization Form in the forms section in CampInTouch/Campanion. You will need to use a separate form for each medication/supplement that is being sent directly to camp (not using Pack My Rx). (Parent signature is required for over-the-counter medications, and both parent and doctor signature is required for prescription medications). This form is not to be used for Pack My Rx.If your child takes an “as-needed” medication/supplement, you must contact Trudy for instructions. Please refer to this graphic to assist you in understanding the process for medications at camp.
