The Parent's View with Tracey Felt

For those reading this blog for the first time, our series, “The Parent’s View,” is a space for parents to share their reflections and experiences with Beber. Contributing this month is Tracey Felt, whose 11 year old daughter attends camp. Tracey reflects on the importance of Beber communications during the off season and summer: I am so impressed with Beber Camp’s communication. It’s obvious that the staff puts a lot of time and effort into sharing with families and the communication is high quality. The Beber newsletters throughout the school year include pertinent information about the upcoming summer and they keep families involved. My daughter gets the ‘Beber vibes’ when she sees camp updates and we know it’s time to start planning for the summer. The countdown is already underway! The links included in the newsletters are very helpful, and everything is mapped out so that anyone reading is aware of things like health center updates, transportation plans, packing tips, etc. The blog post links offer a nice variety of information regarding Jewish life, camp traditions, camping trips, support systems for campers and so much more. In addition, the camp's social media platforms also include photos that are thoughtfully chosen. If someone is not clear on camp expectations and procedures, they are probably not reading the newsletters!During the summer, the daily blogs are well-written and thoughtful, and parents can really understand what their kids are doing. Even if I don’t see a photo of my own child, I still know what she is doing because I get a glimpse of all the incredible activities and the flow of a typical day at camp. And Shabbat is just amazing! I can feel the Shabbat love and camp community vibes through these posts. I appreciate that the Beber Camp full-time team puts a lot of effort into creating communications for the community. All families will benefit from reading the information and staying connected.
