Beber Camp's Essential Guide to Medication Management: Pack My Rx Registration and Policies for Summer 2024
To ensure the safety of our campers who take any medications or supplements at camp, we require families to use Pack My Rx to send daily pill medication to camp. Registration for Pack My Rx will open on February 1.Please note the following:
- WE DO NOT ACCEPT any gummy medications or gummy supplements, liquid medications, or dissolvable pills. Please switch your child to chewables or to pills/capsules well before camp starts so that they get used to the change.
- Melatonin must come through Pack My Rx and must be ordered as a nightly medication (it may not be listed “as needed”).
- If your child takes any “as needed” medication or supplements (such as Lactaid, allergy medications, Miralax etc.), you will NEED TO CONTACT Trudy for instructions on that process. We have made some changes for Summer 2024.
- If you have questions or need to request an exception for any medications, please contact Trudy by April 1.
- NEW THIS YEAR: ALL medications/supplements must be sent to camp to arrive at least four days before the session begins. While you do not need to use Pack My Rx for creams, powders, epi-pens, inhalers or eye/ear drops, you may order those through Pack My Rx. All of these medications need to be sent to camp in advance and Pack My Rx will do that for you. You may also send these yourself to camp in advance if you prefer, but they need to arrive at least four days before the session begins. The only exception to this is for contraceptive pills and Accutane packages your child is still currently using that week. Please contact Trudy if you have questions.
You do not need to provide as-needed over-the-counter medications like ibuprofen, acetaminophen, generic Benadryl, cough/cold medications, etc. The medical staff will dispense these to campers as needed. If your child needs a specific brand of as-needed over-the-counter medication, please get in touch with Trudy.More details about our process for medications will be posted in future newsletters. Please be sure to read them carefully to avoid additional charges and to make sure your child accurately and safely receives medication.
